The Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, participated in the “Songkran Festival 2021” at Wat Thai Buddharam, Brisbane

On April 11, 2021, Wat Thai Buddharam, Brisbane and the Thai community in Brisbane and vicinity jointly organized the “Songkran Festival 2021”, under COVID Safe Plan, at Wat Thai Buddharam. The event was held to celebrate Thai traditional New Year and to preserve Thai culture through the many generations.

In the Festival, various activities including food offering, Buddhist chanting ceremony, water blessing, thai traditional music and dance were held, as well as authentic thai food were served.

On this occasion, Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Minister, Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, presided over the ceremony along with Mr. Andrew Park, Honorary Consul-General of Thailand to Brisbane, Hon. Leeanne Enoch, Minister for Communities and Housing, Minister for Digital Economy, Minister for the Arts (Queensland), Councillor Tim Frazer (Logan) and Mrs. Chearanai Ratanavaraha, President of Thai-Australian Association of Queensland Inc..
