The ASEAN Committee in Canberra met with the Minister for International Development and the Pacific

On 20 April 2021, HE Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand, as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), together with the ASEAN Heads of Mission met with The Honourable Zed Seselja, Minister for International Development and the Pacific at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Canberra. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN-Australia relations, and discussed matters pertaining to post-Covid recovery including importance of equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines in the region. The meeting also highlighted the importance of deepening and maintaining people-to-people ties in the long term ASEAN-Australia relations, which include the need to expedite the return of students from ASEAN countries to Australia.
