On 1 December 2022, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Commonwealth of Australia, together with the Heads of Team Thailand Agencies in Australia, hosted a Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Sala Thai, Royal Thai Embassy. The Reception was attended by Mr. Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Luke Gosling, OAM MP, Member for Solomon, Chair of the Australian Parliamentary Friends of Thailand, H.E. Dr. Ali M. Kraishan Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Australia as Dean of the diplomatic corps,Mr. Brendan Smyth, Commissioner for International Engagement, ACT, Major General Stephen Jobson, AM, CSC, Commander Aviation Command, representative of the Chief of Defense Force, members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials from relevant Australian Departments and military agencies, representatives of the private sector and academic institutions, Thai community and Friends of Thailand.
On this occasion, the Chief of Protocol proposed a toast to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phravajiraklaochaoyuhua and the people of Thailand. The Ambassador of Thailand in return proposed a toast to His Majesty King Charles III and the people of Australia. At this function, the Royal Thai Embassy was honoured to receive a video message from His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Australia. The video message was shown at the Reception.
