Ambassador of Thailand participated in a virtual dialogue on “Australia-Southeast Asia relations and the post-COVID-19 regional order”

On 23 February 2021, H.E. Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Kwok Fook Seng, High Commissioner of Singapore were invited to give remarks at a virtual dialogue on “Australia-Southeast Asia relations and the post-COVID-19 regional order” organised by La Trobe Asia in partnership with the Australia-ASEAN Council and Asialink, amongst others.   Participants included academics from various institutions in Australia as well as Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. They discussed issues relating to Australia-Southeast Asian relations and future directions post COVID-19 pandemic and provided recommendations for strengthening Southeast Asian-Australian economic and security cooperation.  The Ambassador of Thailand touched on the importance of cooperation, collaboration, connectivity and partnerships to drive ASEAN-Australian economic recovery and enhance people-to-people ties after COVID-19.
