Closure of the Royal Thai Consulate in Perth
The Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra wishes to announce the closure of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Perth, effective from 18 October 2010 onwards until further notice. Consequently, all visa applications and consular matters should be directed to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra.
Visa Application:
After the afore-mentioned closure, Australian nationals and foreign citizens with Australian residency in Western Australia who wish to apply for a visa to visit Thailand are requested to send the application, together with relevant documents, to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra. It is recommended that applicants check the Embassy’s website (http://canberra.thaiembassy.org) beforehand for detailed information, application form and requirements. For further assistance and inquiries, please call the Embassy’s visa section at 02-6206-0120.
The Embassy may take up to 10 (ten) working days for visa application process. In addition, visa applicants will have to allow sufficient time for postage and delivery. Therefore, please be advised to submit the application to the Embassy in advance, at least 3 weeks prior to departure.
Visa Exemption for Australian Tourists:
Please also be informed that visa requirement is exempted for Australian passport holders who wish to travel to Thailand as tourist as long as their stay do not exceed 30 (thirty) days, provided that proof of return or onward travel arrangements are presented with their passports at the airport immigration check-points.
