Thai Ambassador attended 2023 ASEAN – Australia Business Forum and Gala Dinner

On 26 June 2023, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Mrs. Hataya Kusakul, Consul – General of Thailand to Sydney, and Ms. Sithee Tanboonteck, Director, Thailand Board of Investment, Sydney, attended the 2023 ASEAN – Australia Business Forum at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.

Also present at the Forum were Hon. Mr. Tim Ayres, Assistant Minister for Trade and Manufacturing, Mr. Nicholas Moore, Special Envoy on Southeast Asia, Department of Foreign and Trade, ASEAN Ambassadors to Australia as well as CEOs of leading companies across ASEAN and Australia.

The said Forum was aimed at providing the opportunity for ASEAN-Australia business communities to expand networking as well as to exchange views with a view to enhancing economic engagement, particularly trade and investment, between both sides. The Forum addressed topics of current interests, such as renewable energy, infrastructure development, agriculture and food security, digital transformation and innovation, and women economic empowerment.

On this occasion, Mr. Tanachat Pochana, Chairman and Founder of Enserv Holding from Thailand, was invited to participate in a panel discussion on “Investment in Agriculture and Food Security”, during which he highlighted the importance of R&D in the future trend of agri-food industry. He also shared a success story of Enserv on developing an eco and health friendly product that can add value to the food and energy supply chains.

During the Gala Dinner held following the Forum, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, delivered her remarks, emphasizing the growing importance of ASEAN as a center of growth as well as of relations between Australia and ASEAN.
