Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day

On 29 November 2023, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Commonwealth of Australia, together with Heads of Team Thailand Agencies in Australia, hosted a Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Sala Thai, Royal Thai Embassy. The Reception was attended by members of Parliament members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials from relevant Australian Departments and military agencies, representatives of the private sector and academic institutions, Thai community and Friends of Thailand.

 

On this occasion, Ms. Sophia Knight, Acting Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, proposed a toast to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phravajiraklaochaoyuhua and the people of Thailand. The Ambassador of Thailand in return proposed a toast to His Majesty King Charles III and the people of Australia.

 

Ambassador Arjaree then delivered her remarks highlighting the remarkable contribution His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej had graciously made for the betterment of the lives and socio-economic conditions of His people. This includes His Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which continues to guide Thailand on its path towards balanced and sustainable development. The Ambassador also underscored the longstanding special relationship between Thailand and Australia and opportunity for both sides to collaborate more to reach full potential as strategic partners.

 

Mr. Luke Gosling, OAM MP, Member for Solomon, Chair of the Australian Parliamentary Friends of Thailand, also gave congratulatory remarks.
At the reception, the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon played the Thai royal anthem and Australian national anthem. Thai food and dessert were served.
