ASEAN Committee in Canberra met with Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham

On 23 March 2023, Mr. Sira Swangsilpa, Minister, together with the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), led by Dr. Siswo Pramono, Ambassador of Indonesia to Australia and ACC Chair, met with Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, at Parliament House.  Both sides were pleased with the strong ASEAN-Australia collaboration under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Senator the Hon Birmingham reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN centrality as Australia’s bipartisan foreign policy.  Similarly, as ASEAN Chair this year, Ambassador Pramono said that Indonesia is committed to deepening ASEAN-Australia economic cooperation and welcomes future engagement under the Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
