Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra

On 15 December 2020, the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC) comprising ASEAN Heads of Mission, with H.E. Mr. Kwok Fook Seng, High Commissioner of Singapore as Chair, met to review past achievements and to discuss future activities for the new year.  The ACC commended the achievements accomplished together since the start of 2020 which was an extraordinary year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  In this connection, the ACC expressed their deep appreciation to the Philippines and Singapore for their productive chairmanship during 2020.  At the meeting, the High Commissioner of Singapore handed over the ACC chairmanship to H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand for January – June 2021.  Vietnam will assume the chairmanship in the latter half of 2021.
