Thai Ambassador paid an official visit to Western Australia

On 16-17 August 2023, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, paid an official visit to Western Australia to strengthen relations and expand cooperation between Thailand and Western Australia.

 

During the visit, the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Christ Dawson, Governor of Western Australia, and met with many government officials, including the Honourable Stephen Dawson, Minister for Emergency Services, Innovation and the Digital Economy, Science, Medical Research; the Honourable Peter Damien Quinlan, Chief Justice of Western Australia, the Right Honourable Basil Zempilas, Mayor of the City of Perth, the Honourable Alana Clohesy, the President of the Legislative Council of WA; the Honourable Michelle Roberts, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly; and Mr. Shane Love, Leader of the Opposition.  She also had meetings with representatives of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and Energy Policy WA.  Mr. Reuben Kooperman, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Perth, joined these meetings.

 

In the meetings, the Thai Ambassador discussed opportunities for enhancing trade and investment engagement between Thailand and Western Australia in various potential sectors, such as clean and renewable energy, decarbonization technologies, food and agriculture, education and tourism, as well as promoting student and business exchanges. Ambassador Arjaree also expressed her appreciation to all concerned parties in Western Australia for their continued support extended to the Thai community and businesses in the state.

 

In addition, the Honourable Stephen Dawson, representing the Premier for Western Australia hosted the luncheon in honour of the Thai Ambassador, attended by representatives from the WA government, companies with trade and investment connection with Thailand, as well as educational institutions and Thai community associations.
