Thai Ambassador met with representatives from executives and legislative branches of Queensland during her official visit

On 12-14 June 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, paid an official visit to Queensland to strengthen relations and expand cooperation between Thailand and Queensland.

During the visit, the Ambassador together with Ms. Cheranai Tina Field, Thai Honourary Consul in Brisbane had a series of meetings with officials from Queensland’s executive and legislative branches, including (1) Mr. Steven Huang, Councillor, representing the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, (2) The Honourable Cutis Pitt MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, (3) Ms. Jennifer Howard MP, Assistant Minister for Treasury, Trade and Investment, as representative of the Premier, (4) Ms. Filly Morgan, Associate Director-General, Governance and Engagement, Department of the Premier and Cabinet, (5) Mr. John-Paul Langbroek MP, leader of the opposition’s representative and Shadow Minister for Seniors, Communities and Disability services and Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and (6) Mr. Justin McGowan, Chief Executive Director, Trade and Investment Queensland.

 

In these meetings, the Thai Ambassador discussed and explored how to further deepen cooperation between Thailand and Queensland in various areas, including trade and investment, green energy transition, food and agriculture, tourism and education in both higher and vocational education, as well as people-to-people ties. She also conveyed her sincere appreciation to all concerned parties for their support given to the Thai community and businesses in Queensland.
