Thai Ambassador enhances Thailand – Victoria relations
During her official visit to Victoria on 1-2 February 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, discussed opportunities to promote enhanced engagement and cooperation between Thailand and the State of Victoria in her meetings with a number of government officials and dignitaries. These include Ms. Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Minister for Mental Health and Minister for Aging, Mr. Nick Staikos MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, Ms. Sally Capp AO, Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Mr. David Southwick MP, Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment, Transport and Infrastructure, Major Projects, and Cost of Living, and representatives of the Port of Melbourne. Ms. Tessa Sullivan, Honorary Consul for Thailand in Melbourne, also attended.
In these meetings, the Thai Ambassador raised opportunities for greater trade, investment and cooperation on various sectors such as green energy transition, food and agriculture, medical and
biotechnology, digital economy, creative industries, education, tourism, and people-to-people links as well as the establishment of relationship. She also exchanged views on possible cooperation between the City of Melbourne and provinces in Thailand.
Ambassador Arjaree expressed her appreciation to all concerned parties in Victoria for their continued support extended to the Thai community in the State.
