On 2 March 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy welcomed a delegation of ten Thai government officials participating in the Competitive Neutrality Study Tour in Australia from 1-6 March 2026. The delegation comprised representatives from the Trade Competition Commission of Thailand, the State Enterprise Policy Office and the Comptroller General’s Department.

In her remarks, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, underscored the importance of Thailand - Australia cooperation in sharing knowledge and experiences on competition policy and state enterprise governance. She also highlighted the significance of strengthening standards in areas such as competitive neutrality in line with international best practices, including those promoted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Advancing reforms in these areas would contribute to Thailand’s readiness in its ongoing process towards accession to the OECD.

The afore-mentioned study tour is funded under the Southeast Asia and Australia Government-to-Government Partnerships Program (SEAG2G) of the Australian Government. It aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Australia’s competition policy and competitive neutrality framework as well as state-owned enterprise governance, non-discriminatory public procurement obligations and public policy development processes. The program also includes engagements with key Australian institutions, including the Treasury, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Department of Finance and the Productivity Commission.
