Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban is currently Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Commonwealth of Australia, having presented her Letter of Credence on 8 February 2023. She is also Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Fiji, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, the Kingdom of Tonga and the Republic of Vanuatu, and Ambassador-Designate to Solomon Islands, with residence in Canberra.
A career diplomat, Ambassador Sriratanaban has worked in various departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, including the Department of European Affairs, the Department of East Asian Affairs, the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Office of the Minister, and the Department of Information. She later served as Director of the Office of Policy and Planning, Deputy Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs and Ambassador Attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs overseeing international security issues and the Devawongse Varoprakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs. Before assuming her post in Australia in December 2022, she was Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, from 2019 to 2022.
Ambassador Sriratanaban’s earlier overseas assignments include at the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, from 2000 to 2004, and the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., from 2011 to 2015.
Ambassador Sriratanaban graduated with Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) from the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. She obtained Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (M.A.L.D.) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, United States.
