On 16 February 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy held a merit-making ceremony on the occasion of New Year 2026 at Sala Thai Function Hall, the Royal Thai Embassy. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and was attended by Heads and officials of Team Thailand agencies in Canberra, together with their spouses, as well as members of the Thai community in Canberra and nearby areas.


Venerable Phra Rajasilaporn, Abbot of Wat Dhammadharo, the presiding Sangha, was accompanied by a monastic delegation of 8 monks. The ceremony included Buddhist chanting, alms offering to monks, a Dharmma Sermon, and the sprinkling of holy water for blessings to all the participants.
