On 26 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Ajaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, paid a visit to the Thai elephants at the Werribee Open Range Zoo in Victoria.

Currently, there are nine Asian elephants at the Werribee Open Range Zoo, which include three that were born in Thailand and five that are offsprings of Thai elephants and were born in Australia. They were recently relocated from the Melbourne Zoo to their new 21-hectare habitat at Werribee, which has well-equipped facilities that ensure the welfare and care of the elephants. The Werribee Open Range Zoo officially opened the “Elephant Trail” to visitors on 23 March 2025.
