On 16 March 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, presided over the Chedi Foundation Stone Ceremony, marking the beginning of the construction of the Chedi Subhaddachetiya, at Bodhipala Monastery in Mount Pleasant, South Australia. This chedi is being built as a memorial to the Venerable Phra Ajahn Chah Subhaddo, the founder and former Abbot of Wat Nong Pa Pong in Ubon Ratchathani province. The religious ceremony was led by Phra Brohmvacirayanasophon (Liem Thitadhammo), Abbot of Wat Nong Pa Pong and Advisor to the 10th Precinct Sangha Administration, who was accompanied by Sangha representatives from both Thailand and Australia.
 
On this occasion, Ms. Simone Bailey, Mayor of the Mid Murray Council, Mrs. Amanda-Jane Giannopoulus, Honorary Consul-General in Adelaide, officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, as well as Thai and non-Thai Buddhists from Adelaide and nearby areas participated in the ceremony. Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, also sent a congratulatory message. The ceremony included merit-making and alms offering to monks, the laying of the foundation stone ceremony and Dhamma sermon.
