On 20 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, visited the University of Queensland along with a delegation of accelerators from Thai universities and agencies, led by Assoc. Prof. Chaleeda Borompichaichartkul, Acting Deputy Director of Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC). The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Brett Lovegrove, Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
During the visit, the delegation discussed potential cooperation with university executives and participated in a roundtable discussion with faculty members to explore collaborative opportunities in research on agricultural and food technologies, health and medicine and other areas of potential.
Additionally, the delegation visited facilities located within the university, namely the Plant Futures Facility, a newly opened plant science research centre, and the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), a leading institute that uses bioengineering and nanotechnology to find solutions in addressing various challenges, with a focus on translating research into commercial applications.
