On 10 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, welcomed a delegation from the Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, led by Director-General Ms. Chotima Iemsawasdikul at the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra. The delegation was visiting Canberra to attend the 5th Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement Joint Committee (TAFTA-JC) Meeting and the 2nd Thailand-Australia Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) on 11 March 2026.

Both sides exchanged views on Thailand-Australia economic and trade cooperation, including progress in the implementation of the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA) and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral economic engagement in areas of mutual interest. The Ambassador also reaffirmed the Embassy’s role in promoting collaboration, supporting Thai agencies and Team Thailand, and coordinating with relevant Australian counterparts to advance practical outcomes.

Following the discussion, the Ambassador hosted a lunch for the delegation from the Department of Trade Negotiations.
