On 18 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Mrs. Wimalin Beattie, Thai Honorary Consul in Hobart, visited the facility in Hobart of SALCO, an Australian company which export live rock lobsters worldwide. The Ambassador was welcomed by Mr. Michael Blake, General Manager, who briefed her on the company’s business, including how the company ensures the sustainability of catching rock lobsters in the wild and the company’s interest in the Thai market. On the same date, the Ambassador also visited the shipyard of INCAT, a high-speed electric catamaran ferry manufacturer. She was welcomed and given a tour by Mr. Stephen Casey, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Tom Cooper, Marketing Manager. INCAT is currently building the world’s largest high-speed electric catamaran ferry which will operate between Argentina and Uruguay.
