On 16 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, attended the Gala to Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Township of Penguin at the Penguin Surf Life Saving Club, Penguin, Tasmania, at the invitation of the Thai Association of Tasmania (North West) led by Mr. Gary and Mrs. Penny Hall (as Silver Sponsor of the event). Also in attendance was Mrs. Wimalin Beattie, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Hobart.
 
At the Gala, the Ambassador got to meet the Honourable Anne Elizabeth Urquhart, Federal Member for Braddon, the Honourable Casey Hiscutt, Member of the Tasmanian Legislative Council and Chairman of the Penguin 150 Committee, the Honourable Roger Jaensch, Member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, Mrs. Cheryl Fuller, Mayor of Central Coast Council, Mrs. Vicki Brereton, CEO of Central Coast Council, and Mr. Ken Knight, Patron of the Penguin Surf Life Saving Club.
In a speech congratulating the Penguin 150, the Ambassador also commended the Thai community for their constructive contribution to the local community there and emphasized the importance of people-to-people ties to the partnership between Thailand and Australia.
