On 15 May 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, together with Mrs. Chearanai Tina Field, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Brisbane, visited the Biosustainability Hub at the University of Queensland.

 

The Ambassador was given a tour of the facility and briefed by Professor Esteban Marcellin, Director of the Hub about some of the research works being done focusing on synthetic biology and sustainability. These include development of bioethanol from greenhouse gases, biofuel and sustainable aviation fuel, as well as animal-free protein using precision fermentation. The Ambassador also exchanged views with the researchers about opportunities for collaboration with Thailand.
