On 10 April 2026, during her visit to Cairns, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, met with The Hon. Nita Green, Senator for Queensland, Assistant Minister for Tourism, Assistant Minister for Pacific Island Affairs, and Assistant Minister for Northern Australia, at her office. They discussed opportunities for further promoting Thailand-Australia relations and cooperation, especially on economic engagement, tourism, people-to-people ties, business, as well as on development cooperation with Pacific Islands countries.
On the same date, the Ambassador met with The Hon. Michael Healy, MLA, Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, at his office. They exchanged views on ways to promote people-to-people ties, especially through tourism and cultural activities. The Ambassador also expressed her appreciation to Mr. Healy for his continued support extended to the Thai community in Cairns, including for the “Songkran in Cairns 2026” held on 11 April 2026.
