Certified Documents

1. Principle

 

1.1 The Royal Thai Embassy is generally authorised to authenticate documents issued by Thai government agencies, documents issued by Australian government agencies, and other documents issued by private entities or Individuals.

 

1.2 Process may vary on a case-by-case basis.

 

1.3 The Embassy does not authenticate the contents of the documents but authenticate the signatures of those who sign the documents.

 

2. Important Conditions:

 

2.1 To get documents issued by Thai government agencies authenticated by the Embassy – The documents must be firstly authenticated by Legalization Division, Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Click here to check the processes and required documents.

 

2.2 To get documents issued by Australian government agencies authenticated by the Embassy – The documents must be firstly authenticated by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the state/ territory where the applicants reside. Please note that the Embassy does not accept apostille.

2.3 To get documents issued by private entities or individuals authenticated by the Embassy – The documents must be firstly certified by Notary Public and then authenticated by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the state/ territory where the applicants reside. Please note that the Embassy does not accept apostille.

 

3. Documents Required

 

3.1 Completed Application for Legalisation (<— click to download)

 

3.2 A valid Passport or other IDs

 

3.3 Original documents firstly authenticated accordingly through the process(es) in 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3

 

4. Application Channels

 

4.1 Applying in person at the Royal Thai Embassy from Monday to Friday 9.30 – 12.30 hrs. and 13.30 – 16.00 hrs. (Except Embassy’s Public Holidays) by booking the online appointment (click here and select the Legalisation)

 

4.2 Applying by post. Please send a prepaid return envelope (Registered Post Envelope – B4 size) with self-address.

 

5. Fee $25.00 AUD per seal. Payable in cash or money order made payable to “Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra”.
