Ambassador of Thailand speaks at ASPI Conference

On 11 June 2021, HE Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand was invited as a speaker at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) Annual Conference ‘Shape, Deter, Respond: Implementing the 2020 Defence Strategic Update.’  Ambassador Busadee participated in the session of ‘Global perspectives on Indo-Pacific regional security’ together with HE Mr Mark Glauser, High Commissioner for Canada to Australia and HE Dame Annette King, High Commissioner for New Zealand to Australia which was moderated by Dr. Beatrice Gorawantschy, Director of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Australia and the Pacific. The panel exchanged perspectives on the security challenges in the Indo-Pacific and ways to strengthen cooperation within the region.  Ambassador Busadee discussed the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and emphasised the importance of enhancing partnerships in the region.  More than 200 participants from various sectors including defense, academia, government, among others, attended the conference.
