This category of visa is issued to eligible applicants currently residing in Australia and wish to enter Thailand for:
Doing business, employment or
Investing in Thailand (through the ownership of condominium, depositing funds in a Thai bank, or the purchase of Thai government bonds, with a face value not less than 3 million THB
2. B Visa Conditions
The B Visa is valid for a single entry for business-related purposes only.
The B Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 90-day period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days from the date of entry. During the 90-day stay, if they wish to leave and re-enter Thailand, they are required to apply for a re-entry permit (single or multiple) before departure. If they leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, the current stay permit shall be considered void.
The extension of stay is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer. Extension applications can be made at the Office of Immigration Bureau (visit https://www.immigration.go.th/ for more information).
If B Visa holders breach entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked and they will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.
3. B Visa Application Procedures
Each applicant must submit a complete application form together with the required documents* to the Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra by post or in person. Prepare required documents as follows:
3.1Completed Visa Application Form
3.2One (1) passport-sized photograph affixed to the Visa Application Form
Size 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
White background and no older than 6 months
3.3Passport
An actual passport with minimum validity of 6 months from the date of planned entry into Thailand
Must have at least two empty pages.
A copy of passport (bio data page)
3.4 Proof of an Australian Electronic Visa (only for non-Australian Nationals)
Visa grant page or VEVO check status page
3.5 Proof of adequate finance
For doing business/ For investing in Thailand
A copy of an up-to-date bank statement with a minimum balance of THB 500,000 or AUD 25,000 maintained in the bank account for 6 months prior to the application, or a letter of guarantee from the applicant’s employer confirming that all expenses related to the applicant’s travel will be covered, accompanied by a Bank Statement of the applicant’s company showing funds not less than 500,000 THB (AUD 25,000) maintained for 6 months prior to the application. Proof of adequate finance is not required for those applicants who already have permission to work in Thailand, i.e. holders of a valid work permit, WP.3, or BOI letter.
For employment
Proof of adequate finance – copy of updated bank statement with a minimum balance ofTHB 20,000 per person, or THB 40,000 per family
For doing business
An invitation letter from the host company/organization in Thailand indicating the date and length of stay, and purpose of visit; and
Proof of registered capital of the host company with a minimum amount of THB 2 million
For investing in Thailand:
Proof of ownership of condominium in Thailand; or
Proof of the transfer of money to deposit at a Thai bank; or
Proof of purchase of Thai Government bonds,with a minimum amount of THB 3 million
For Employment
Work permit or WP.3/WP.21 or letter from BOI
Letter of acceptance from your employer in Thailand (for employment only)
Copy of your work contract (for employment only)
For teachers in private schools, a letter of acceptance from the school with the school’s official stamp
3.6Confirmed accommodation in Thailand under the applicant’s name.
3.7 Additional Supporting Documents
Proof of residential in Australia
3.8 Visa Fee
AUD 120 (Payment can be made by cash, money order, or cheque, paid to “Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra”)
3.9 A prepaid return envelope with self-address
4. B Visa processing times
The visa processing time is up to 5 working days.
Certain applications which require special consideration may take longer to process.
5. Remarks
The Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra reserves the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary as well as reject any application without prejudice.
The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants are found to provide false documents or give false information, their applications will be rejected and be reported for further determination of appropriate action and future prohibition to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
Visa processing fees are non-refundable regardless outcome.
Visa processing fee is subject to change without prior notice.
