On 26 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, joined other Ambassadors and High Commissioners of ASEAN countries, or their representatives, and a representative of Timor-Leste in Canberra, in a joint courtesy call on Senator the Honourable Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, at the Australian Parliament House.

Foreign Minister Wong discussed the importance of ASEAN in the Indo-Pacific region and reiterated Australia's commitment to deepening engagement with Southeast Asian countries, including through initiatives under the Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 and the ASEAN-Australia Centre.

On this occasion, Ambassador Arjaree highlighted four areas where ASEAN and Australia can work more closely together, namely, building an ASEAN-Australia partnership for sustainability, engaging and deepening understanding among private sector stakeholders of the opportunities between ASEAN and Australia so as to enhance trade and investment, strengthening cooperation on combating transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking, human trafficking, and online scams, and promoting people-to-people connections, especially among young people.
