On 8 December 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, chaired the 04/2025 ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC) Meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy. Ambassadors/High Commissioners and representatives from the Embassies/High Commissions of all ASEAN member countries participated.

The meeting welcomed Timor-Leste as a fully-fledged member of ASEAN and reviewed ACC activities during the latter half of 2025 under the Thai chairmanship. The meeting also discussed the notional calendar of the ACC for the first half of 2026, including engagements with senior representatives of Australia to strengthen economic cooperation, advance education partnerships, and promote people-to-people links, as well as organizing activities to foster closer ties among ASEAN member countries in Australia.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Thailand handed over the Chairmanship of the ACC to Viet Nam, whose term will run from January to June 2026.
