On 3 June 2026, Ms Jitvipa Benjasil, Charge d' Affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra attended the Closing Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Indian Ocean Maritime Security Project - Graduate Certificate of Law (Maritime Studies) program, which was hosted by the Australian Border Force (ABF) in partnership with Australian National University (ANU) and supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
On this occasion, Commander Claire Halim, ABF College, Professor Ryan Goss, Head of ANU Law School, and Mr Bruce Soar, Assistant Secretary, South Asia and Central Asia Division, DFAT, gave remarks congratulating the participants on the completion of their study and underlining the importance of regional cooperation and networking among countries that would serve as a foundation for promoting peace and prosperity in the region.
The course was well attended by officers from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Australia and two officers from Thailand (Mr Panyavut Janta and Ms Sirinat Poovipirom from Custom Department).
