On 22 January 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, welcomed Mr. Anan Suwannarat, Election Commissioner, and delegates from the Election Commission of Thailand during their visit to Canberra to observe the overseas election and referendum process organized by the Embassy. The Ambassador and Embassy officials briefed the delegation on the postal voting organised by the Embassy for registered voters who live in Australia (ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS, WA and NT), Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Nauru, and Kiribati, including the procedures related to ballot distribution and public relations, as well as challenges and feedbacks from Thai voters. Both sides discussed how to improve overseas election in the future. The delegation also observed the process of sorting the returned ballots to be counted in Thailand and referendum ballots to be counted at the Embassy.
