On 30 April 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, delivered a keynote address at the Thailand NQI Alliance for Future Food and Health Innovation Workshop via videoconference.

The event aimed to promote collaboration among partner agencies in strengthening Thailand’s National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) for high-value food and health industries, including future food, sustainable agriculture and herbal products, in order to enhance Thailand’s competitiveness in the global market. The program featured policy presentations as well as sessions on research and development, testing and analysis, and the regulatory approval of health products, as well as workshop to exchange views on market opportunities for Thailand's high-value health products.

In her remarks, the Ambassador underscored the importance of leveraging science, research, and innovation as key drivers in upgrading value chains, particularly in sectors where Thailand has strong potential, including agriculture, food, and biodiversity. These efforts are essential to achieving value-added growth and sustainable development. She noted that Australia plays an important role as a key partner with strong capabilities in research and development, supported by a robust innovation ecosystem that connects upstream research to downstream commercialisation. Australia also maintains high standards in quality, safety, and sustainability, which are critical factors in building trust and confidence contributing to strong image and good branding in global markets.

The Ambassador emphasised that cooperation in research and innovation is a key pillar under the Thailand-Australia Strategic Partnership Plan of Action, with strong potential for further expansion, particularly in translating research and innovation into commercial outcomes. Efforts to strengthen National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) are important component of this cooperation, which can support a systematic pathway to market from research and testing to certification, regulatory approval and the commercialisation of products in both domestic and international markets in an effective and sustainable manner.
