Ambassador of Thailand, paid courtesy calls on and met with ministers and high-level officials of Papua New Guinea

During 8-9 April 2025, following the presentation of her credentials to His Excellency Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae, GCL, GCMG, KSt.J, Governor General of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, Her Excellency Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Papua New Guinea, with residence in Canberra, paid courtesy calls on and met with ministers and high-level officials of Papua New Guinea, namely: (1) The Honourable Justin Tkatchenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs, (2) The Honourable Jelta Wong, Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources, (3) Mr. Elias Wohengu, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and (4) Mrs. Jacinta Warakai-Manua, Secretary for International Trade and Investment. Both sides discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between Thailand and Papua New Guinea in various areas for mutual benefits of the two countries, encompassing exchanges of high-level visits, trade, investment, agriculture, fisheries, development, people-to-people connectivity, as well as celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Thai-Papua New Guinean diplomatic relations in 2026 and mutual support in international forums.
 
The Ambassador also met with H.E. Mr. John Feakes, High Commissioner of Australia to Papua New Guinea, H.E. Mr. Mochizuki Hisanobu, Ambassador of Japan to Papua New Guinea, and H.E. Mr. Andriana Supandy, Ambassador of Indonesia to Papua New Guinea, to exchange views about developments in Papua New Guinea’s politics, economy, and foreign policy, as well as opportunities for collaboration.
