On June 17, 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, along with Ms. Hataya Khusakul, Consul General in Sydney, visited the Tourism Australia and met with Ms. Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director, and Mr. Bede Fennell, Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs.

Both parties exchanged information on tourism promotion strategies, future tourism trends, sustainable tourism management, and community and cultural engagement in each country.

According to the 2023 Visa Global Travel Intentions Study, Australia ranks among the top five destinations for Thai tourists. As for the Australian to Thailand, Australian tourists spend the highest travel expenditure in Thailand.

Currently, Australia promotes tourism through various activities, such as the Australia Media Hosting Program, which invites global media to create captivating stories about Australian tourism, highlighting the country’s coastal areas, wine, culture, nature, and wildlife. Another key initiative is the Australia Tourism Exchange, the largest tourism trade show in the Southern Hemisphere.
