On the auspicious occasion that His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the Royal Kathina Robe upon Mr. Mongkol Khongsukjira to be presented to the Sangha who had spent the 3-month rain retreat at Bodhipala Monastery, Adelaide, as part of the support and preservation of Buddhism, on Sunday, 25 October 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with official of the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, attended the Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony at Bodhipala Monastery, Adelaide.
The ceremony was presided over by Phra Sophonbhavanavithet (Luang Por Kalyano), Abbot of Buddha Bodhivana Monastery, Melbourne, and joined by Sangha including Phra Khru Buddinyanavithet (Ajahn Nyanadipo), Abbot of Bodhipala Monastery, Phra Khru Vinyathon Thawin, Abbot of Wat Pah Nong Goong, Ubon Ratchathani, Phra Khru Satitudomkhun Sathian, Abbot of Wat Pah Non Somreong, Sisaket, Phra Khru Vithetvisuttinyan Varadhammo, Abbot of Bodhisaddha Forest Monastery, Sydney. The Ambassador served as the lay chairperson of the ceremony.
The morning session included a prayer, alms offering, and the offering of lunch to the monks. The Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony was held in the afternoon. The Ambassador performed the duty of presenting the Royal Kathina Robe on behalf of Mr. Mongkol Khongsukjira, the Royal Kathina Robe recipient. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Buddhist devotees, both Thai and foreign, from Adelaide and nearby areas.
On this occasion, the Ambassador made remarks, expressing appreciation to all participants and those who contributed to the food offerings, who came together to make merit.
