Ambassador attended the Royal Kathina Ceremony at Sanggharangsee Temple in Hobart, Tasmania

On Sunday, 2 November 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with official of the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, attended the Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony at Sanggharangsee Temple, Hobart, on the auspicious occasion that His Majesty the King of Thailand had graciously bestowed the Royal Kathina Robe upon Mrs. Chamlong Rairat to be presented to the Sangha who had spent the 3-month rain retreat at the temple, as part of the support and preservation of Buddhism.

The ceremony was presided over by the Venerable Phra Rajasilaporn, Chief Abbot of Dhammadharo Temple in Canberra and President of the Thai Dhammayut Sangha Council of Australia and New Zealand.


The Ambassador served as the lay chairperson of the ceremony in the morning which included a prayer, alms offering, and food offering to the monks. In the afternoon, the Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony was held, with a large number of Thai and foreign Buddhist devotees from Hobart and nearby cities attending.
