On the auspicious occasion that His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the Royal Kathina Robe upon Mrs. Kobkuea Arlott to be presented to the Sangha who had spent the 3-month rain retreat at Dhammadharo Temple, Canberra, as part of the support and preservation of Buddhism.
On Sunday, 19 October 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Heads and officials of Team Thailand agencies in Canberra, as well as their spouses and families, attended the Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony at Dhammadharo Temple, Canberra.
The ceremony was presided over by Chao Khun Dhammavajirarangsee, Abbot of Wat Pa Buddharangsee Buddhist Forest Monastery, Lumeah, and joined by Venerable Phra Rajasilaporn, Abbot of Wat Dhammadaro, Phra Rajadhammayan, Abbot of Wat Buddharangsee Stanmore, along with 28 monks. The Ambassador served as the lay chairperson of the ceremony in the morning which included a prayer, alms offering, and the offering of lunch to the monks.
In the afternoon, the Royal Kathina Robe Presentation Ceremony was held, with a large number of Buddhist devotees from Canberra and nearby areas attending.
On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered remarks expressing appreciation to the Royal Kathina recipient, all participants, and those who contributed to the food offerings. She highlighted that the Kathina ceremony is an important annual merit-making event for Buddhist devotees. It provides an opportunity to express faith, unity, and generosity through merit-making, for blessings and for support and preservation of Buddhism.
