On 24 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, met with Prof. Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Chair of the Board of the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), along with Mr. Sawat Sangkananta, board member and acting Director of PMUC, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanda Boonsothonsatit, the incoming Director of PMUC.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to promote cooperation in research and innovation between Thailand and Australia, focusing on addressing industry needs, building networks between researchers and entrepreneurs, and opening new markets for Thai innovative products. The Ambassador reiterated the Embassy’s role as a bridge between agencies and relevant sectors in both countries to foster concrete collaboration, especially in fields aligned with the strengths and priorities of Thailand and Australia.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also congratulated Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanda Boonsothonsatit, who would assume the role of Director of PMUC on 1 October 2025.
