On 31 October 2024, The Royal Thai Embassy organised a volunteer community service activity inspired by the Royal Initiative, to commemorate the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn The Great, at Dhammadharo Temple, Canberra.

In the morning, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Commonwealth of Australia, presided over a religious ceremony of merit making. Heads and officials of Team Thailand Agencies represented in Canberra and their spouses together with President and members of the Australia-Thailand Association, Canberra (ATA) as well as the Thai community in Canberra, attended the said ceremony.

Later in the day, the Ambassador led volunteers to do garden work including weeding and cleaning up the garden around Dhammadharo Temple. The volunteers also worked together to set up tents and tables and clean chairs in preparation for the Royal Kathina Ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, 3 November 2024, at the temple.
