During her visit to Sunshine Coast from 18-19 July 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, met with The Hon Fiona Simpson, Minister for Women and Women's Economic Security, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, and Minister for Multiculturalism, and Member of Queensland Legislative Assembly, representing Maroochydore. They exchanged views on issues and challenges faced by women, including domestic violence, as well as how to strengthen the Thai community in Sunshine Coast and support them as part of Australia’s multicultural society. The Ambassador also had a meeting with Mr. Joe Natoli, Councillor of Division 4, Sunshine Coast City Council, to discuss the promotion of Thai community's activities and learn about the city’s development plan and preparations to host Summer Olympic Games 2032. She was then given a tour of the City Council building.
In addition, the Ambassador visited Head Office of Minor Hotels, which is part of Thailand-based Minor International PCL and invests in the hospitality sector in Australia, including Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites. She was welcomed by Mr. Mark White, Chief Finance Officer, who briefed the Ambassador on the company’s operation in Australia and took her on a tour of the office.
