Thai Ambassador explored cooperation with leading educational institutions during her official visit to Queensland on 12-14 June 2024.

On 13 June 2024, H.E. Ms. ArjareeSriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, met with Rong Yu Li, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Global Engagement, University of Queensland, and representatives from International Service office, Faculty of Foods and Agriculture and Faculty of Engineering. Both sides discussed how to promote academic and research cooperation with Thai universities, especially through joint degree and double degree programs, joint research collaboration, as well as student, faculty and researcher exchanges in disciplines of mutual interest including those that will help develop capacity to deal with new challenges, such as climate change, food security and green energy transition.

Following that, on 14 June 2024, Ambassador Arjaree met with Mr. Robert Petherbridge, Executive Director, Business Development, and Ms. Shelly Lewis, Director of International Engagement, TAFE Queensland. Both sides exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation and different forms of partnership on human resource development and training to build skills and up-skill for workforce, including in areas such as green energy transition, agricultural technology, as well as electric vehicles. The Ambassador also had a site visit to see cookery and hospitality and cyber security classes at TAFE Queensland.
