On 28 January 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, welcomed Committee members of Buddharangsee Thai Community Language School Inc, Sydney, and volunteer teachers from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, at the Royal Thai Embassy during their visit to Canberra after the five-week Summer School Project had been successfully completed.

On this occasion, the Ambassador was briefed by the School’s Committee members and the volunteer teachers about the history of the school, its courses, its challenges as well as the outcome of the Summer School Project. The Project, carried out with the cooperation of the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, has run for 30 years offering a variety of courses on Thai language, Thai classical music and Thai traditional dances for Thai youth growing up in Australia to encourage them to learn Thai language and Thai culture as well as to instill the sense of love and pride of Thai identity. This year’s project had 53 students attending classes conducted by the 7 volunteer teachers from Monday to Friday between 23 December 2024 and 25 January 2025.

The Ambassador also expressed her appreciation to the Committee members for their determination and continued efforts to run this project, which has helped to promote strong-knitted Thai community.
