On 25 November 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Commonwealth of Australia, together with Heads of Team Thailand Agencies in Australia, hosted a Reception on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thai National Day, and Thai Father’s Day at Sala Thai, Royal Thai Embassy.
 
The Reception was attended by members of Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials from relevant Australian departments and agencies, representatives of the private sector and academic institutions, Thai community and Friends of Thailand.
 
On this occasion, Mr. Jonathan Muir, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, proposed a toast to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phravajiraklaochaoyuhua and the people of Thailand. The Ambassador of Thailand, in return, proposed a toast to His Majesty King Charles III and the people of Australia.
Ambassador Arjaree delivered her remarks highlighting the dedication of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to bettering the lives and wellbeing of His people. This includes His Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which has guided Thailand and other interested countries on path towards a more sustainable future. His Late Majesty also left an indelible mark on the Thai-Australian relations. Noting the long-standing ties of friendship between the two countries, the Ambassador also reassured that Thailand will work with Australia to further translate their Strategic Partnership into tangible, mutually beneficial outcomes.
 
Mr. Luke Gosling, OAM MP, Federal Member for Solomon, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Defence, Veteran’s Affairs and Northern Australia and Chair of the Australian Parliamentary Friends of Thailand, also gave congratulatory remarks, emphasizing the significance of the Thai National Day where the Thai people commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the 72 years of close relations between Thailand and Australia including opportunities for future cooperation in different areas to bring about stability and security in the region.
 
At the reception, the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon played the Thai royal anthem and Australian national anthem. Thai food, dessert and beverages were served. The Musical Compositions of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej were played during the reception for the attendees.
