On 18 August 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, met with Professor Nicholas Farrelly, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Tasmania (UTAS), and Member of the Advisory Board of the ASEAN-Australia Centre. On the same day, the Ambassador visited the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) of UTAS. At the IMAS, she was briefed on the Institute’s research and given a tour by Dr. Mark Curran, Ice Core Scientist, Australian Antarctic Division, Professor Helen Phillips, Head of Oceans and Cryosphere, IMAS, and Dr. Pat Wongpan, Research Associate, IMAS. The Ambassador also visited the Centres specialising in separation science hosted by the UTAS’s Discipline of Chemistry, namely, the Australian Centre for Separation Science (ACROSS) and the Australian Research Council (ARC) Training Centre for Hyphenated Analytical Separation Technologies (HyTECH). She was briefed on the Centres’ respective research and given a tour by Professor Brett Paul, who is the Director of both Centres.
