On 29 April 2025, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, hosted a dinner in honour of Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC) and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and his delegation at the Thai Residence during his visit to Canberra to deliver a keynote speech at the invitation of the Australian National University. On this occasion, in addition to sharing with Embassy officials his perspective on regional and international situations and geopolitical developments, the former Deputy Prime Minister, who is current Chairman of Chulalongkorn University Council and Chairman of the Chiang Mai University Council, also shared his views on opportunities for Thai-Australian relations, particularly potential for promoting further cooperation on education and collaboration between academic institutions of the two countries.
