Ambassador meets commissioner of the Australian Federal Police

On 8 September 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, met with Ms. Krissy Barrett APM, Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, at the Australian Federal Police headquarter. Mr. Stephen Nutt, Assistant Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, also joined the meeting.
Both sides welcomed close collaboration and cooperation between the Royal Thai Police and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), particularly in combating transnational crimes, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and online scams. The Ambassador emphasised Thailand's readiness to build upon the leaders' joint statement on combating transnational crime signed by the Prime Ministers of both countries during Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's official visit to Australia, towards concrete implementation and tangible outcomes.
In addition, both sides exchanged views on the challenges posed by technological development, including its possible impact in relation to growing problems of violence and extremism especially among young people today. They also discussed about international efforts on counterterrorism.
