On 20 April 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, attended the 2026 ABSC Inc. Media Conference and Dinner, organised by the Australian Business Summit Council (ABSC Inc.). The event served as a platform for exchanging views and promoting economic cooperation, with participants including representatives from the government and private sector as well as members of the diplomatic and consular corps.
On this occasion, the Ambassador delivered a keynote address and participated in a panel discussion. The Ambassador underscored the importance of fostering dialogue and strengthening economic cooperation in an increasingly complex and uncertain global environment, particularly from the geopolitical development and current conflict situation in the Middle East that undermined energy security, food security, supply chains and overall economic stability. The Ambassador outlined Thailand’s economic policy direction under the “3Cs” framework to promoting Confidence, enhancing Competitiveness, and strengthening Collaboration, through efforts to improve the business environment, reduce regulatory bottlenecks, support entrepreneurs and promote skills development. The Ambassador also highlighted Thailand’s ongoing structural reforms and alignment with international standards as part of its commitment to becoming a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) by 2028.
The Ambassador further emphasised Thailand’s potential as a regional economic hub in Southeast Asia, as well as opportunities to enhance Thailand-Australia cooperation in high-potential sectors, including agri-food, green economy, digital technology, medical and health industries, critical minerals, as well as research, innovation and high-value industries.
