The ASEAN Committee in Canberra met with Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management

On 23 June 2021, HE Ms Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), together with the Ambassadors/High Commissioners of ASEAN and their representatives met with The Honourable David Littleproud MP, Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management.  Both sides emphasized the value of the longstanding ASEAN-Australia relations. The ACC expressed its appreciation for Australia’s strong support and assistance to the region in the post-COVID-19 economic recovery.  The ACC welcomed the announced initiative on the new seasonal agriculture visa for ASEAN and looked forward to receiving further details.  The Minister also expressed his commitment to enhance agricultural cooperation including research and development.  Both sides agreed to continue to strengthen their future collaboration on agriculture.
