Thai Ambassador visited Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga Campus, to explore agriculture cooperation
On 7 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Mrs. Chatvadee Chindawongse, Deputy Director-General, Department of Asean Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Waraporn Saelee, Minister Counsellor (Agriculture), Office of Agricultural Affairs, Canberra and the Thai delegation met with senior executives of Charles Sturt University (CSU), Wagga Wagga Campus.
The delegation was briefed by Mr. Nick Pagett, Executive Director, AgriPark, and Mr. Jonathan Medway, Head of Digital and Sustainable Agriculture, about CSU’s programs on agriculture, including its Global Digital Farm initiative. They also discussed ways and opportunities for collaboration in various areas including digital farming, precision agriculture as well as agriculture study.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited the university’s demonstration farm to learn more about advanced agricultural techniques and technology being implemented on the ground, such as long term crop rotation, plant phenomics, feedlot of livestock and soil management.
