Thai Ambassador to Australia stands ready to support Thai Business and Investment Community in Western Australia

On 17 February 2021, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Amabassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Australia, delivered pre-recorded video remarks to “An Introduction to the Thai Business and Investment Community in Western Australia” function together with Mr Reuben Kooperman, Thai Honorary Consul in Perth, Cr. Sandy Anghie, Deputy Lord Mayor of Perth, Mr Chris Bandy, Director, Invest and Trade Western Australia as well as prominent Thai businessmen and investors in Wester Australia, including Mr. Songvit Itipattanakul of Miss Maud Hotel, Mr. Akapol Srisangfa of AM Holiday Travel, Mr. Ganr Jitpiromsak of JJ Market (WA) and Mr. Yuttapong Jittiwanakorn of Bangkok Brothers Restaurants (WA).

The event, which was organised at Council House, City of Perth by Australia Thailand Business Chamber WA Inc to promote Thai Business and Investment Community in Western Australia to the local public, was well attended by 80 participants from
WA’s governmental agencies, private sector and academic community.

In her remarks, Thai Ambassador presented ways to enhance the bilateral relations between Thailand and Western Australia. Both sides can benefit from the geographical proximity and existing channels, most recently, including the recently signed Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership in November 2020. Thailand and Western Australia can further strengthen people-to-people ties, trade and investment opportunities as well as technology and knowledge transfer with focus in the areas of education, SMEs, digital economies and agri-food industries.

In the 2019-20 fiscal year, Thailand is ranked as WA’s 7th largest trading partner, with a total value of 4.7 billion AUD and 2.1% of the State’s total share.
