Thai Ambassador joined the reception on the occasion of the 57th Anniversary of ASEAN and the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN – Australia Dialogue Relations

On 12 August 2024, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, joined the ASEAN Heads of Mission to Australia in hosting the reception on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of ASEAN and the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN – Australia Dialogue Relations at Hotel Realm, Canberra.

 

H.E. the Honourable Sam Mostyn, Governor General of Australia attended the reception as Guest of Honor, together with over 200 guests including the Honourable Don Farrell, Minister for Trade and Tourism, ambassadors, high commissioners and members of the diplomatic corps, senior representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as well as representatives from Australia’s public and academic sectors. Heads of the Team Thailand agencies in Canberra also attended.

 

On this occasion, H.E. Ma, Hellen B. De La Vega, Ambassador of the Philippines to Australia, as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC), gave remarks, followed by H.E. the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC. Both sides highlighted the importance of ASEAN-Australia relations, which celebrates the 50th Anniversary this year, in promoting peace and security, prosperity and people-to-people links in the region.
